Fund Raising - Street Collections
Each year we hold street collections, otherwise known as Flag Days, in Newton Stewart, Castle Douglas and Ayr. These fundraising activities have been extremely well supported by the shoppers and visitors to the three towns and we have raised substantial amounts of money to help our voluntary search and rescue activities. In 2008, with the impending handover of the new Galloway MRT base in Newton Stewart, the street collection monies raised will provide additional funding to refurbish and upgrade the building. Every penny is gratefully received, and we thank everyone who donates by putting their loose change into our collecting cans. Look out for our numerous collecting cans in shops, visitor centres and other attractions throughout Galloway. See also:- Press Releases
